So I just might be so excited that I actually finished my
little ones Halloween costume before Halloween. I am always the one who
realizes that Halloween is the next day {or the day of} and quickly puts
something together. Usually its for me and the hubs and then my SIL {who has
the skills in the sewing department} Would whip something up. {Like Tinker
Bell, Dorothy, Little Bo peep etc…} seriously she is AMAZING!
The
last two years however, she got married and now has one of the most adorable
baby ; which has left me on my own. Last year was fine the little one wanted to
be a monkey and all I did was get a brown sweat shirt hot glue some foam ears,
buy a monkey tail {yes they sale them at Wal*Mart} some brown makeup, leggings
and a homemade tutu and we were good.
This
year she wanted to be a cowgirl, and not just any cow girl but a very expensive
{nice but expensive} from ETSY that she saw on my Pinterest. Let me
say I am not a streams tress, I did however take a sewing class in college and
feel comfortable about figuring things out and making them. So after looking at I thought I could do that
and I am very pleased with the outcome. {Also on a positive note I didn’t even
yell or get angry which is usually what happens when I am tired and sewing}
So I found a simple
A-line skirt patterned and figured it out. My favorite part of this skirt is
the bustle.
I LOVE IT and most importantly my little cowgirl loves it.
Today we went to get a full slip from target to make the skirt puffy. My little one after trying it on looked at me
and said “Sometimes a girl just wants to feel fancy, and today I do! “ I love me little one and the things she says
make me giddy and proud.
{After taking the little ones picture she insisted on taking
mine, and since I want to be Miss. Frizzle for Halloween she set up a “school
back drop” notice the chalk and white board? {Also excuse my appearance but I
had been sewing all day} }
What are you doing for Halloween? Are you making a costume
or buying? Tonight I am going to make a trick or treat bag and then I am done!
{On to Christmas}
