I have a family secret, my dad is a baker. I don’t usually tell people because they then
assume that one either I can bake or that I know all these amazing tips. Alas I
am an ok baker {meaning I have to try a few times before it comes out ok} and I
am an independent learner; meaning that I only call my dad in case of a baking
{or cooking} emergency other than that I tend to try to learn it the hard way.
{I have this need to feel accomplished.}
So with that out in the open and the air clear, I inherited my dad’s
first kitchen aide. I love it! It is one
of the oldest models’ and she still works beautifully {except for the shaking,
but hey she’s over 40!} She is heavy duty, and bigger than the average mixer.
Her and I have an understanding and we make a good team. I
love her, I could not make half the yummy things in my kitchen without her. I
have tried and it just does not work as well. So when looking at her a few
months back I noticed she was looking tired and sad. So I decided
she needed a face left.
While
at Michael’s one day I noticed something in the clearance bin that would help
me give my kitchen aide the look she needed. I giant sticker, that was meant to
go on the back of a laptop for decoration. It was perfect! When I matched it up it was even the right
size! It was clearly meant to be.
Did I mention that it’s removable for when I grow tired of
the look and want to move to the next one?
I love the wear and tear on her as well because it shows all
the love my dad put into her and now I get to do the same with my little one.
